Exploring the depths of any underwater environment requires
the necessary scuba diving equipment. Skin diving and snorkeling
are both fun activities, but only air tanks that enable underwater
breathing will give you the true underwater experience.
Besides an air tank, a diving suit is a very important piece
of scuba diving equipment. Since water conducts heat away from
the body 25 times faster than air, it is possible to suffer from
hypothermia in lukewarm water. Wet suits are the most popular
and cost-effective options of protecting against water temperature,
but dry suits are also available.
Wet suits are made of neoprene and they’re designed to
trap a layer of water between the suit and the skin. As long everything
is sealed up–restricting water flow in or out of the suit–the
body should warm up the trapped water, providing some good insulation.
Insulation is necessary in battling hypothermia which makes a
wet suit a very important piece of scuba diving equipment.
